A fun, fit, hardworking couple or two friends (either is fine) are required to work in St Tropez in a private villa for a high profile client, and their guests, for the summer. To do cooking, serving, clearing and some tidying around the house to ensure the guests have a lovely holiday.
The clients will never normally have more than 8 people staying at one time, but there will be occasional parties where local friends come so numbers will be higher. Some weeks will be very quiet, the clients may even be away/at friends properties so each day/week will vary.
You will be required to work a 6 day week (you get the same day off each week) and it is important that (ideally) you are both able to drive - if not both then at least one person must drive. You must have a bubbly, jolly, friendly, smiley personality, enjoy being in a service role, and have confidence to serve high profile clients and interact with them, at the same time as being able to judge a situation and be discreet or quiet when required.
Duties will include doing breakfast, lunch and dinner - low key cooking - British style food, nothing fancy required. You will also be required to do the shopping for groceries (sticking to the clients weekly budget), and shopping for other things required by the guests such as drink or any other things they ask you to pick up. Other duties will including tidying up around the house, making sure everything is in order, sweeping leaves on the terrace, clearing up the pool area, picking up towels from bathrooms, emptying bins - they have a cleaner three times a week so it is not full on cleaning but important you have a good eye for detail and are happy to pick up the hoover/mop/duster and make sure everwhere looks nice all the time. You will also be required to lay and clear tables, serve and clear food and drinks and just in general make sure everyone is having a lovely holiday! You must enjoy doing this kind of job and have some experience working in similar roles.
Between lunch and dinner there is normally a period where you can take a break. Dinners are not three courses - more like nibbles (crisps/dips etc) and then a main and pudding. Everything served platter style. No diet requirements other than no shellfish - although there may be occasional guests who are vegan or vegetarian but you would be told in advance.
You will need to have some basic french so you can get by in the shops. You must also be happy to drive the hire car which will be yours for the duration of the job.
Accommodation is provided in a shared room.
This job would really suit two friends who have done a ski season / villa season or similar and are happy to work hard in a really lovely place for great clients in a lovely area for the summer. If the job goes well, there is the opportunity to return year on year.
Weekly salary paid per person, all return travel costs covered. Informal relaxed environment and discretion is key but a confident personality, the desire to please the guests and for them to want for nothing is important, and a good sense of humour is essential.
